  1. Dispatch
  2. 911 Tips
The Communications personnel for the Wickenburg Police Department and the Wickenburg Fire Department are the first line of defense between the public and the emergency services they may need.

Public Safety Answering Point
Wickenburg Police Department is a public safety answering point. All 911 calls made within the city limits are answered here. The 911 system provides the dispatcher with the caller's name, address and phone number when calling from their home phone. Although this information is provided, the caller must verify the information.

Types of Questions
Dispatchers must ask many questions at the time pertaining to calls for service. We understand this can be stressful for callers in times of need. These questions must be asked to be able to give the police and fire units responding a clear picture of the situations and the hazards involved.

The Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are 6 full-time dispatchers and 1 supervisor. This requires shift work rotated every 2 months.
