History:
The rodeo facilities are named in honor of Everett Bowman (1899-1971), a world-renowned rodeo cowboy who competed from the 1920s through the 1940s. He won the Rodeo Association of America All-Around Cowboy Championship twice in his career, along with numerous other awards. He was instrumental in the founding of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and served as its president from 1936 to 1945. After his retirement from competition, he lived in Wickenburg, where he worked as a deputy sheriff.
